Eleven Months

Real crawling now on hands and knees and fast.

Figured out how to climb stairs.

Such a little monkey - wants to climb up everything.

First overnight at Grandma's and Grandpa's house and it was a great success.

Started going to a music class and now claps his hands together and is starting to make lip smacking sound when you tell him to blow a kiss.

All of a sudden, baths are a real challenge. He only wants to stand in the bathtub and climb out!

Has mastered the art of getting cheerios in the car from mom by throwing his hand high into the air like he has a question - cutest thing ever.

Discovered he likes blackberries when we were on a walk the other night. We couldn't pick them fast enough.

More clapping

Where's your tongue?
Happy boy

Ten Months

Pulling himself to a standing position in crib (started this right after he turned 9 months).

Very into feeding himself, figured out his pinchers and how to pick up pieces of food and very steadily put it in his mouth. Much more into real food now, wants whatever I'm eating.

Loves to use his baby walker and walk/run everywhere in the house.

Discovered his boy parts the day he turned 10 months.

Sleeping and napping great. Consistenly sleeps from 7:30pm-5:30am, quick bottle and diaper change and back down until 7/7:30 - has been doing this for a while now, started between 8-9 months.

Starting to wave bye-bye

How big is Owen? => hands up in the air

How big is Owen? THIS big!

Learned how to clap his hands

And I'm outta here!

Nine Months

On the move and not interested in sitting still or being held.

Crawling (more of an army scoot thing).

Pulling himself up to a standing position.

Finally cutting some teeth - two!

Down to 2 naps a day (yay!!) - one in the morning between 9/9:30 and another in the afternoon around 3:00. It is so wonderful finally having a 3-4 hour stretch during the day where we can go do something.

Not so into taking pictures or smiling today

Peaking out the window

Enough pictures, Mom. That's it, I'm out of here.

Eight Months

Perhaps the biggest month yet! All of a sudden our baby seems like a completely new child. He has a new later bedtime (by his own choice of course), he rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time at 7 months 1 week and hasn't stopped rolling ever since, he sleeps on his tummy now, went to his first A's game, has really found his voice and babbles the entire commute to daycare (just about the cutest thing ever!), loves to blow bubbles and make clicking noises with his tongue, got a new puppy, and we are now supplementing with forumla.

He is eating three meals a day. Breakfast is typically bananas and oatmeal, lunch is peas and carrots or some yams, dinner is avocado, apples, and hard boil egg yolk.

His new favorite thing to do when we are feeding him is drop his spoon (he MUST have his own spoon while we are trying to feed him) and look over the side to see where it landed. We pick it up and give it back to him only for him to drop it again. What a fun game! Not really, especially now that we have a puppy who tries to get the spoon before we can :-)

He is so close to crawling! He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. He is also quite the yogi! Downward dog, childs pose, and plank position seem to be his favorites.

Still no teeth! Also, most difficult photo shoot yet. This kid is on the move and not about to sit still for mom to take his picture.

Blowing raspberries, he loves doing this!

Seven Months

Consistantly eating oatmeal, avocado, yams, and butternut squash.

Started swim lessons at the YMCA. Dunked under water and everything! No surprise, he loves the water.

Sitting up really well now with little to no assistance.

First fever and sickness. White bumps on tongue, probably hand, foot, mouth, but never confirmed. After two weeks of sleepless nights, bumps in mouth, and a very unhappy baby, we finally got our smiley and cheerful child back!

Six Months

First full month of mom back to work and Owen at daycare (3 days/week) and grandma and grandpa (1 day/week).

Introduced more food:
   avocado - winner!
   yams - another favorite
apples - surprisingly not a fan

Starting to sit up with a pillow.

Has found his feet.

Five Months

It has been a big month with lots of changes including new room, new bed, daycare, bottles, and solid food.

On New Years day we moved Owen out of our room and into his own room as well as out of the pack 'n play and into his crib. The transition was very smooth - I think we are all sleeping much better in our own rooms!

The last feeding of the day has always a huge struggle so I started pumping and giving him a bottle instead each night before bed which that has been working out great for us. He will happily take 5-8 ounces and definitely recognizes that bottle. He has even started holding it all by himself. Amazing how fast they learn!

My maternity leave came to an end and a week before Owen turned five months, I went back to work and he started daycare. So far we are both adjusting pretty well. It's hard being away from him, but it helps knowing he is well taken care of and having a great time playing with the other kids and toys. His sleeping has greatly improved (both naps and at night) in large part to our new routine and schedule and also because daycare tires him out!

We introduced solids just before he turned five months, starting with rice cereal. He took to it better than expected. He knew just what to do with the spoon and seemed to like it ok. I can't believe how big he is getting. It was crazy to see him in a high chair for the first time - definitely not a baby anymore!

He is slowly discovering his feet and has recently started grabbing his toes. He also just figured out that he can stick his fingers into other people's mouth which he thinks is the funniest thing ever.

Four Months

Rolling over now from stomach to back, but only when he feels like it.

Out with the swaddle and in with the sleep sack.

Sleep regression like whoa! The day after he turned 3 months, our six to eight hour stretches of nighttime sleep were a thing of the past and sadly, have still not returned!

Decided he doesn't like a bottle anymore - not good since he is going to daycare very soon! So I spent a week working on giving him a bottle every day and something finally clicked thank goodness.

Thanksgiving day at my parent's house

Four month check up went well. Head circumference and height continue to measure on 50 percentile, but his weight dropped off significantly. Since that appointment I've started pumping and feeding him a bottle at night which he seems to prefer. He now takes his bottle like a champ, putting back 6-9 ounces before bedtime.
